Make Music Chicago and Pianos In The Parks - Chicago at its best
Every June 21st, Make Music, an annual daylong free celebration of music, is held in Chicago and around the world (more than 700 cities across the globe). Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public.
In Chicago Rush Hour Concerts first presented Make Music Chicago in 2011. Their link connects to MMC but also to their Summer Concert Series of weekly, free, world-class music making at St. James Cathedral – 65 East Huron!! I love it!
That’s NOT IT … from June 21 – August 1, in seven Chicago neighborhoods (see download-able postcard) they’ve made pianos available for anyone to play! My local park is Washington Square and here some of my shares from 2015 (a few that were included in the 2016 promo pieces).
